About ALISA

Alisa Gumbs has two decades of experience as a multimedia business journalist—from editing breaking earnings announcements to writing feature profiles of successful CEOs, conducting video interviews with powerful executives, and moderating live panel discussions on the issues facing professionals and entrepreneurs. In her current position as vice president and deputy chief content officer of BLACK ENTERPRISE, she sets the editorial direction for the company’s women’s franchises, Women of Power for executive women and SistersInc. for women entrepreneurs, across digital, events, video, social and email. She leads the content for the Women of Power, Women of Power TECH, and SistersInc. Summits. And she also serves as creator and host of the award-winning SistersInc. podcast and host of the On the Clock video series. Gumbs joined BLACK ENTERPRISE in August 2003. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. and a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and mass communication.
